This program runs for a minimum of 4 years (8 semesters) under the Department of Science. Students in the B.Sc (Applied Physics) program must pass with a minimum of 134 credits to graduate.The curriculum for the Bachelor of Science (Applied Physics) ensures a fundamental background through departmental core courses and advanced study in an area of concentration that includes required subjects and restricted electives. Students are also required to take laboratory courses, to complete an independent research project and industrial training as part of the degree requirements.

All lecture-based modules are supported by problem-solving classes, mathematical methods and laboratory work. The emphasis is on core physics, mathematics and practical skills.

  • Material Science: Nanostructured Material, Surface Physics, MEMS, Superconductor, Material Analysis and Characterization, Material Testing and Evaluation, Physics Lab V

    Photonics: Electronic Testing and Maintenance, Sensor and Transducer, Laser Technology, Signal Processing, Optoelectronics, Fibre Optics, Physics Lab V

    Health PhysicsHuman Anatomy and Physiology, Radiation Detection and Dosimetry, Radiation Biophysics, Physics of Diagnostic Radiology, Physics of Radiotherapy and Nuclear Medicine, Medical Instrumentation, Physics Lab V.

  • SYARAT KEMASUKAN
    1. Mendapat sekurang-kurangnya Gred C (2.00) pada peringkat Matrikulasi dalam Mathematics dan Physics/ Chemistry/ Biology, Atau
    2. Mendapat sekurang-kurangnya Gred C (2.00) pada peringkat Matrikulasi dalam Mathematics dan Engineering Physics/Engineering Chemistry/ Civil Engineering Studies/ Electrical Engineering Studies/ Mechanical Engineering Studies, Atau
    3. Mendapat sekurang-kurangnya Gred C (2.00) pada peringkat STPM dalam mata pelajaran Mathematics T/ Further Mathematics T; dan Physics/ Chemistry/ Biology, Atau
    4. Memiliki kelayakan Diploma Sains/ Diploma Sains Gunaan/ Diploma berkaitan atau kelulusan lain dengan mendapat sekurang-kurangnya Purata Matanilai Himpunan (CPA/PNGK) 2.50 dari mana-mana Institusi Pendidikan Tinggi Awam (IPTA) atau Politeknik atau kelulusan yang diiktiraf setaraf dengannya oleh Kerajaan Malaysia dan diluluskan oleh Senat IPTA, Atau calon yang tidak memenuhi syarat CPA/PNGK 2.50 tetapi mempunyai pengalaman bekerja sekurang-kurangnya 2 tahun dalam bidang berkaitan boleh dipertimbangkan.
       

    Nota:

    * Mendapat sekurang-kurangnya Gred E pada peringkat SPM dalam mata pelajaran Bahasa Inggerís dan calon tidak rabun dan tidak cacat anggota (buta/pekak/lumpuh/bisu) yang menyukarkan kerja amali.

    ** Lepasan Diploma boleh dipertimbangkan untuk pengecualian kredit mengikut kelulusan mata pelajaran dan bidang yang diikuti.
