  • The Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Science
    programme provide the opportunity for student
    to acquire research skills and deepen their
    knowledge in an area of science. Student work
    under the guidance of an experience supervisor
    who is full time academic staff member of the
    faculty student are examined through the
    presentation of thesis and are required to take
    prescribed subjects in research methodology or
    any other subject deemed necessary by the
    principal supervisor. The main aim of this
    programme is to provide a professional
    development of candidate, providing experience
    in problem definition, hypothesis formulation
    and testing, data acquisition, analysis and
    interpretation as well as project presentation.

    Candidates must have obtain at least:

    • A Master of Science (MSc) or equivalent in
    related field from UTHM or institutions
    recognised by Senate; or

    • Any other qualification equivalent to a
    Master’s degree with relevant experience in
    the related field recognised by the Senate; or

    • A student with CGPA of 3.67 and above of
    Bachelor’s Degree from UTHM or any other
    institutions of higher learning recognised by
    Senate may apply direct to Ph.D programme.
